The Piobaireachd Society
The VPA are pleased to announce that the Australian Piobaireachd Medals have been endorsed and supported by the Piobaireachd Society (UK).
The Society has granted £500 to assist with prize money for the 2025 Medals at the Victorian Championships.
The Piobaireachd Society is the authority on Piobaireachd worldwide and sets the tune requirements for the major Scottish piobaireachd contests, namely, the Argyllshire Gathering in Oban and the Northern Meeting in Inverness.
The Piobaireachd Society has an extensive resource of library with recordings, original manuscripts, and judges’ notes covering hundreds of tunes.
Membership for the Piobaireachd Society grants access to this substantial resource and is very well priced. The VPA encourages all its members to purchase a Piobaireachd Society membership.
