Exciting Prize Update for the 2025 Victorian Championships

The Victorian Pipers Association (VPA) has announced exciting changes to the prize structure for the 2025 Victorian Championships, enhancing the competition experience for solo pipers across all grades.

In line with the VPA’s ongoing commitment to supporting pipers and fostering participation and improvement, the committee has reviewed competitor feedback and worked closely with sponsors and supporters to elevate the overall value and appeal of prizes on offer.

This year, competitors in B Grade through to Novice will see minor cash prizes replaced with high-quality, piping-related items—carefully selected to be both useful and more valuable than the previous monetary awards. The aim is to provide prizes that not only recognise achievement but also inspire continued progress and engagement in the art of piping.

Additionally, increased prize values will be awarded to Piobaireachd placegetters and winners across other grades, reinforcing the significance and prestige of placing at Victoria’s premier solo piping event.

The VPA continues to ensure that all competitions are judged by respected, expert adjudicators who are committed to offering constructive and affirming feedback, upholding the association’s high standards and focus on musical development.
