Malcolm is considered one of the highest authorities on piobaireachd in the piping world. He is currently a Senior CPA adjudicator in Scotland and is regularly on the panel for the biggest solo piping events, such as the Glenfiddich Championship, the Northern Meeting and the Argyllshire Gathering.

Malcolm’s piping accomplishments include the Gold medal at the Argyllshire Gathering, the Dunvegan medal, the Gold medal at Braemar, the Gillies Cup, and the Bratach Gorm.

Malcolm has also been the President of the Piobaireachd Society and a member of the Society’s music committee for over 30 years.
