The VPA is proud to present our first Victorian Championships recital this year on Friday July 7th 2023 at PLC Burwood. Doors open 6.30pm for a 7pm start.
Our recitalists will be Jack Watson, Liam Nicolson and our guest judge Stuart Easton.
Stuart is one of New Zealand’s most accomplished pipers and one of the World’s premier players. He has won all the major solo piping prizes in New Zealand and Australia, and has also had considerable success in Scotland, England, and France. Originally taught by his father Murray, then later by Stewart McKenzie and Greg Wilson. The highlight of his piping career to date was winning the Highland Society of London Gold Medal at the Argyllshire Gathering in 2018. He qualified to compete in the prestigious Glenfiddich Piping Championships at Blair Castle. In the solo piping world, to be invited to play in the great hall at Blair Castle is the pinnacle of achievement.
