Terms And Conditions of Entry

By submitting an entry to this competition, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms and conditions:

  1. Eligibility: Entry is open to all pipers, regardless of age or affiliation, subject to the competition rules and grade requirements.

  2. Minors: Competitors under the age of 18 years must be accompanied by a parent, guardian or designated responsible adult at the event venue. The accompanying adult is responsible for the minor’s supervision and well-being at all times during the Event.

  3. Conduct: All competitors and attendees are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful and appropriate manner. The VPA reserves the right to disqualify any competitor or remove any attendee whose conduct is deemed disruptive or inappropriate.

  4. Rules and Regulations: Competitors agree to abide by all rules and regulations of VPA Competitions, as published by the VPA.

  5. Photography/Videography: Competitors grant permission to the VPA to use any photographs or video footage taken during the competition for promotional purposes, including the VPA website and social media platforms. In exceptional circumstances (i.e. court orders) this permission can be declined via email communication ([email protected]) prior to the competition entered. 

  6. Changes and Cancellations: The VPA reserves the right to make changes to the schedule, format, or location of the competition or to cancel the event due to unforeseen circumstances.

  7. Incorrect Entries and refunds: Incorrect entries will be refunded (i.e. incorrect grade, competition etc). The VPA will not make any alterations to entries or the competition draw after the published close date for a competition. Incorrect entries can be altered up to the closing date for each competition by contacting the VPA via email ([email protected])

    a. Entrant responsibility: The entrant is responsible for indicating an incorrect entry. Notification should occur via email as soon as the error is noted by the entrant. Once received the secretary, or committee, will process the error and alter the entry if possible (see above) or process a refund less processing fees set by the payment provider (Stripe).

  8. Risk: Participating in the competition involves certain inherent risks, including but not limited to the risk of injury, loss, or damage to personal property. Entrants voluntarily assume all such risks associated with their participation.

  9. Liability: Entrants release, waive, and discharge the Victorian Pipers’ Association (VPA), its officers, committee members, volunteers, and any event sponsors, from any and all liability for any claims, losses, damages, injuries, or expenses that may arise from their participation in the competition, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Medical: If there is any medical information or other circumstances you wish the VPA to be made aware of, please provide details here or make a VPA via email communication ([email protected]) prior to the competition entered or speak to a committee member on the day of competition.

Note that, per the above, entry to the event is at the competitor’s own risk and the VPA assumes no liability.
